“I love working with young people, who are doing it tough and want to change the direction of their life.” “I want to help you create a better future, one that you choose and can be proud of"
I have been working in the psychology industry since 2004, providing psychological education and assistance to adolescents and adults (mild to complex presentations) across a broad range of issues in multiple settings (private practice, crisis and general counselling, community mental health, managing a drug and alcohol residential facility, tutoring in university)
Growing up in country QLD, I think that comes through in the way I practice, I am honest and real. I strive to instill hope, motivation, assist you to achieve your goals, with purpose and meaning, and want the best possible outcome for you, in a fun, relaxed way. I will believe in you.
I come from a strengths-based approach using numerous therapeutic approaches, predominately CBT, positive psychology, motivational interviewing and mindfulness, although incorporate other interventions to suit your needs.
Both personally and professionally I believe in living a free life; freedom. This is totally different for everyone, whether that’s being with family, friends, travel, beach, mountain top, nice dinner or hot chocolate. The way we THINK allows us to be free. Even in the tough times, we can still make choices in how we respond, and find that freedom.

“I have a passion for working with young people, adults, and the Indigenous population using a client-centred, humanistic, and strengths-based approach” “I want to help you get to where you want”
I have experience working with youth, adult populations and indigenous communities in coastal, rural and urban settings. I have also worked as a resident psychologist in an acute mental health hospital. I have learnt across all these settings that you, personally, know your journey best, and innately know the best way forward.
I find in collaboration with you, we can determine the best path to move forward, to get you to a position of improved life quality. Whether that may be understanding past experiences affecting present issues, or present issues disrupting future ideals. I personally believe that each person’s journey is significant and deserves a safe space to be heard and attended to. Within this space, personal strengths can also be found, which can then be applied affectively in therapy.
My therapy is informed by positive psychology and attachment theory modalities. I utilise Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Schema Therapy, Mindfulness, and EMDR.
I was born in Australia and have lived for more than 12 years in London working in news, media and progressive arts organisations before returning to Australia and completing studies in psychology. I now live with my husband and two children on a beautiful rural property growing native plants. We use natural farming principles that support and nurture local ecosystems.

“I love the collaborative process of working through life events with adults. It is a pleasure and privilege to experience the emotional journey with people I work with to reach a place that enables greater satisfaction and life enjoyment”.
I have a caring and empathetic style, and I believe that a person’s internal world is able to be experienced in therapy through the building of rapport and trust. I have experience in treating adults (18 years plus) who experience anxiety and depression. Additionally I have many years of experience treating the impact of trauma and abuse. I describe myself as a psychotherapist who uses ‘talking therapy’ to work through issues around attachment to assist my clients to rediscover how they process thought and emotion. I recognise how bringing past experiences to the surface creates an understanding of one’s reactions and thoughts, which in turn builds internal strength and resolves the past so one can move forward emotionally.
I completed an initial degree in disability studies and then specialised in addiction whilst I completed an internship for psychologist registration. It was during my work in community health and addiction that I became interested in psychotherapy and undertook further formal study in this therapy technique. My technique is catered to the individual and includes aspects of ACT, mindfulness and is psychodynamically informed. We all repeat behaviour at some stage in our lives. Understanding family of origin and attachment can assist to identify where patterns of thought and behaviour come from. Making decisions consciously enables greater empowerment and emotional choice.
I have experience in treating trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, chronic health including diabetes, attentional disorders, personality disorders and dissociative disorders.
Following my training I worked in community mental health and advocacy. For the last 12 years I have been in private practice. I believe in choice and empowerment, and values respect, honesty, and integrity.
